Gong xi Gong xi, HAPPY CHINESE ‘NIU’ YEAR!

It’s the bull year! Everyone is saying that this year is gonna be a tough year but NO! We are gonna take the bull down by its horn and tell it that it’s BULLSHIT!!! We are gonna ride the storm and surviveeeee!

YESSS WE CAN!

.

.

.

So, what comes into mind when we think about “Chinese New Year”? These are my version of CNY:

.

1. Waking up early in the morning to the beats of the Chinese New Year songs playing on the radio and putting on the brightest red shirt I could find in the closet.

2. Wishing the parents the most auspicious wishes I could think of and getting red packets (angpows) in return!!! Yippie!

3. Spending hours on the road to get back to hometown to see grandma and relatives~

4. Then they will start questioning you “When are you getting married?”  ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

5. or.. “Do you have a boyfriend already?” or “Where is your boyfriend? How come you didn’t bring him?”

6. or.. “Are you working already? When are you graduating? What you gonna do next?” (and I will have to answer these questions AGAIN AND AGAIN until I can practically memorise every words of it!)

7. Trapped in the living room, enduring all the heat without any air-conditioners. Or when they do have an air-conditioner, they just aren’t generous enough to turn it on!!!!!

8. Do nothing but to watch TV, Tv, tv, tv and tv. BORING!

9. Or play with the cousins’ babies once in a while.

10. NO COMPUTER/LAPTOP! NO INTERNET! NO NOTHING…. but a lot of junk food and cookies..and sunflower seeds, bak kua, plums, sweets.. etc! You name it! Owh and also lots of canned drinks and packet drinks that will make your belly and face rounder and rounder each time you take a sip of them.

11. TV, TV, TV and TV again!

12. Or occasionally someone will start a gambling game and we can start joining by betting a lil, JUST TO KILL THE TIME! Just so the time would pass faster!

13. Eat, eat, eat and eat until we are sick! Like seriously, I don’t know why we humans (or is it only the Chinese community?) like to eat during EVERY celebrations or occasions.

14. Lucky enough, I’ve downloaded many new games into my NDS! So I can kill some time with it too!

15. After the reunion dinner, and more TV and more chatting, finally it’s time to go back homeeeee! YAYYYY!!!

.

.

Ermm.. that’s about it.. I wonder if your version of CNY is about the same as mine. If not, pls feel free to share with me :)

Btw, I personally think that the best part of  CNY is to shop for new clothes and getting angpows!! And I’m sure you too would agree with me! HEHE!

.

Once again, HAPPY MOO YEAR AND HAVE A GREAT YEAR AHEAD!

I’m rather disappointed you asked that question, my dear Clariss. It just shows that you don’t really know much about myself :( I think we should get to know each other more! :)
