What about you?
Life is SO UNFAIR!

.

.

I was so close.

.

I could smell it.

.

I was so near it.

.

So near, yet so far.

.

I was almost there. Maybe just a few more inches.

.

SO EFFING NEAR!

.

So near I could almost touch it.

.

But somehow… I lost it. Lost to the hands of God.

.

….

.

Sigh!

.

I have came this far. Been through up and down, passed through so many stages and challenges for that… that… that very dream job of mine.. and possibly every other girls’ as well.

.

AND I EFFING PASSED THE FINAL ROUND INTERVIEW!!! I still have a hard time believing my luck.. I still remember clearly when I was called back during the interview and was told how they were gonna have to KIV me.. and I thought I already lost it.

(KIV= Keep In View)

.

BUT SOMEHOW, I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL AFTER A WEEK. That very phone call.. that asked me to go for a medical check up, managed to keep me happy for 2 weeks.. because insiders told me that being called for medical check up is equals to landing myself the job.

.

Oh joy!! I could picture myself in that red uniform already!

.

All I have to do is.. to wait for the medical report to prove that I am healthy and fit.. and training shall commence in no time.

.

But soon enough… I started to realise how my other friends  I made during the interviews were called for training and I still haven’t gotten any phone calls/news.

.

And that’s how I realised.. this time I really lost it. When the voice on the other end of the phone call says:

.

….. “I am sorry, your medical report says you are unfit for flying…..”

.

Don’t give up yet ! I mean come on you already passed the FINAL INTERVIEW ! >:O

They obviously want you for the position, it’s just this minor medical report obstacle that’s stopping them from doing so… To be honest I don’t think the recruiters even know what scoliosis truly means, so you have to let them know that it’s just a minor thing that won’t have any effect on your job performance.

The Australian aviation medical examinator’s handbook states that scoliosis below 30degrees is fine for flying wor. > http://imgur.com/CXYu3.png

Go consult a doctor and ask for a written statement that your scoliosis condition will not affect your job performance as an air stewardess, and file an appeal. Even better if you do it at a private medical center sponsored by the airline, cause the doctors are more knowledgeable about the airline system, what could be done for an appeal process, ETC.

Just one last push to get your dream job ! Go for it ! >:O

Life is never fair and because of this, each of us is unique!

I think scoliosis can be cured and after curing it, you can enter into better company, perhaps, Emirates?

    Cheers!

Hi, I had the same problem too, but that was Emirates. I passed all the stages & just few days before my training in Dubai, my offer was being withdrawn due to my scoliosis, which was just only 2 degrees over from their criteria (not over 30 degrees). That was indeed very sad thing in my life, still. There will be air asia walk-in interview coming soon on 18th May, & I tried to do some research about their scoliosis criteria before I decided to go for their interview, but after read yours, I think I really have to give up this time, no more dissappointment in my life again!!
