TIPS on Qatar Airways Walk-in Interview June 2010

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Open Day (CV Submission):

12th June 2010 (09:00AM – 12:00PM) Venue: Renaissance Kuala Lumpur

Well, I am speaking of experience here. I have attended the EXACT same interview for Qatar Airways and even made it through the whole thing. Went to the same hotel, same timing (but different date) and same purposes for the interview.

So if you would like to get all the tips including what you will be facing STEP BY STEP, read what I have blogged about the whole process of interview when I went to the interview in March 2010:

Extra tips:

1) For the CV, a normal one will do. You don’t need to hire a professional to help you out like what some other people did. What is important is to make sure your highest education is included.. if it’s related to cabin crew workfield then it’s an advantage.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY is your previous and current employments. They really want to know what you are working as and what you do at work.

2) Bring both passport-sized and full length photos. I got my photos done at the YS Photo studio. http://www.ysphoto.com.my/ (they have 3 branches).

Requirements for photographs:-
-Colour photograph against a plain (avoid white) background.
-Warm open smile (meaning your teeth should be seen when you smile for the photo)
-Stand facing the camera, with one foot slightly forward and hands relaxed by the sides.
-Ensure that your photographs are clear. Photo-shopped and polaroid pictures are to be avoided.

3) Dress code for females: Skirt for sure. Knee-length skirt. NO PANTS. And wear something with sleeve. (same thing here for your photographs). Remember to put on more colours on your face, lipstick and not lipgloss. I tied my hair up back then coz I didn’t know how to tie it in a bun. But definitely cannot let down your hair yea..

4) During my time, the first interview was on a Saturday, followed by a second interview on the next day, Sunday. Then we could choose whether we want to attend the Monday or Tuesday’s session for the final interview.

5) The final interview is really relaxing compared to the first and second interviews. They make you sit down and chit-chat with you. They basically want to know more about your current and previous employments. They ask a lot on your job scopes and what you do. They want to know how are you like at work.. like.. are u responsible? Committed? Things like that.

did you attend an open day for both male and female? if so, are male applicants being given the chance to be accepted.. I know I cannot rely on looks alone. but I think it hurts to be having so much passion and good things on your resume plus good looks and still not accepted.. I’m afraid to try and have a record of not being accepted. it might narrow my chances next time if I wont get hired…

If u attended an all female Open Day, can u please ask ur fellow cabin crew (those who attended a male/female open day about my question. thanx so much, and stay happy…
