I am currently in London as I am writing this.. have been here for a good few days already..

Tomorrow early morning I will be going Dubai from London together with Mr Boyfie for leisure travel! Wheee~ <3 It’s gonna be my first time in Dubai. I’ve never been rostered to go Dubai before but I believe soon I will be going there for work purposes.

I took quite a few photos (as usual ) but I forgot to bring my card reader for my digicam, and therefore I can’t transfer any photos boo! Thus, let me share some of the culture differences here in London compare to Kuala Lumpur:

1. Shopping.

In London, if we are not happy with any of the products that we just bought, we can always return it back to the shop and get back the FULL REFUND. It is our right and no one will question us. But of course, within a specific time frame.. you can’t just go back to the shop after a year and tell them you want a refund, right?! So what some of the people here do is that.. they just whack and buy all the clothes that they seem to like without even trying (especially when the queue is long) and bring home to slowly try at their own comfortable home. But when they are not happy with any of the clothes, they simply just have to bring them back to the shop to ask for a change of size or refund. I believe many other countries/places practise this as well but too bad Malaysia is not one of them.

2. Zebra crossing.

If you want to cross a zebra crossing on the road and you see a car driving 60km/h towards it, don’t worry and just cross it. Unless the driver is drunk or blind, he/she will totally stop the car for you to cross. They really practise it here, unlike Malaysia where the zebra crossings are totally invisible. Once I was so far away from the zebra crossing from across the road..but the car really stopped and waited for me to get on the zebra crossing. To be honest, that car could have just drove through and I wouldn’t even be there yet.

3. Hazards light.

Something I learnt here is that when a car gave way to you on the road, and you want to thank the driver who is now driving behind your car, you simply just have to put on the hazards light signal for a moment for him/her to see. It is the gesture/way of the people here to say thank you to the other drivers.

4. Clothes drying.

Just like Japan, the land here in London is unbelievably expensive. Most people live in an apartment that has no balcony.. meaning to say, no room to dry the clothes under the sunlight. And that is also if the weather is good and there is any rare sunlight. When there is no room to dry the clothes, what do these Londoners do to their fresh and wet clothes?! Answer is.. with heaters! They put a heater under the wet hanged clothes and leave them to dry.. or simply put ON the heater itself like shown in the photo (that’s my clothes on the heater..hehe).

5. Run run run.

The lifestyle here is really hectic. Just like Hong Kong, everyone is always busy rushing to somewhere.. no time to stop by to catch a breath. If you were walking on a street, and suddenly the phone rings and you want to stop for a while to fish out the phone from your bag.. then…. that’s it! The people behind you will bang into you because they are so FAST!

6. Black is the new black. 

Everyone here dresses in BLACK. Or at least some dark colours. It makes them feel fashionable and trendy, I guess? Or sophiscated? Or they are just plain lazy to wash their clothes so often so they choose dark colours?

Let me bring you back to London.. way back in December 2009! Just before Christmas..

Before that, I recently pinned one of the three badges above onto my pencil case. The one that says “I like snogging better than sex“. And a few of my classmates have been asking me for the meaning of “snogging”.

To be honest, I didn’t know the meaning of that word too until I met my boyfriend. Apparently it’s a British word.

According to www.dictionary.com:

–verb (used without object), snogged, snog·ging. British Informal. to kiss and cuddle.

Now you know the meaning!

I got the badges from the Yogurt Ice-Cream shop called “SNOG” in London.

It’s a really attractive and pinkish shop and I just won’t be able to resist the temptation whenever I pass by that place.

I went to the one in South Kensington branch while I was still in London because my boyfriend was.. and is still studying nearby.

YUMS!

Big big scoop! Guilt-free! Because I was still carefree back then.. jobless and was enjoying my life..

Didn’t have to care about my weight and BMI.

Ahh my date.

I can’t wait to get back there again!! I miss London!

Whenever I tell my boyfriend that I miss London, he’ll scold me. He would say that I miss London more than missing him. LOL!

Hi people,

Just a short post about my where-about.

I am currently blogging from Malaysia.. which means I am back … since last Thursday.

Not very happy.. can’t bare to part with my boyfriend physically.. (but we are still mentally bonded ok!).

In case you didn’t know.. or if you are reading my blog for the first time, I have been to London for holiday for the past 3 months.. living together with my boyfriend who is studying there.

I went to London together with him, but came back alone

He is still in London to pursue his studies.

And now that I am back to Malaysia.. it means we are back to our long-distance relationship.

But heck, at least I had a lot of fun doing nothing but travel in London for the past 3 months!

Anyway, I will be going Korea in 2 days. So, I am probably already in Korea when you read this.

But this is my first time ever witnessing the real snow falling from the sky and therefore I am more than just excited! >.<

I’ve always wanted to see it snows in London before I go home but I was told that it will only snow in January. So I didn’t put high hopes on it until few days ago, the weather forecaster says it might snow on the 16th (Wednesday)!

I was looking forward to it until one fine night, I couldn’t sleep well because it was too cold. And I woke up the next morning finding myself stunned by the marvelous view of the snow floating down from the sky just outside my window.

At that very moment, I was super excited even though I was rather groggy from the results of not getting a good night’s sleep from last night. I jumped off from the bed instantly and took the camera to snap photos and videos non-stop.

The people walking by the street must have thought I am from some ulu village from some corner of the world :p But that didn’t stop me!

I was told many, many times by my boyfriend’s mom that I am really lucky to be seeing snow in London during this month of the year. She says, due to the global warming and climate change, it hasn’t been snowing in December for at least 7 or more years. ^___^

Later on, I decided to walk to the nearby park to take more pictures. I saw a passer-by and asked her to take a photo of me. When I told her that it is my first time seeing snow in London, she says “I am not surprised!”.

LOL! I am pretty sure I wasn’t acting all suaku when I asked her to take the photo of me.

It was freezing cold! My hands and fingers were all numb because I forgot my gloves.

As a result, I am now down with nose-block and flu. BIG TIME!

This post is about our trip to the City of Cambridge, about 2 hours coach journey from London town. If you have not known, Cambridge University is the world’s top university and is currently ranking at UK’s Top 1 uni. It is the rival to the Oxford University (also in UK) and Harvard (in USA). So, if someone tells you that he/she is from any of these 3 uni, then you shall know that they are either a genius or a geek/bookworm!

He is an engineer graduated from the Swansea University in UK and is now working in the outskirt of London. I have known him since we were 16 or 17 when we went to the same physics tuition in Kuala Lumpur. We lost contact for a while and then somehow managed to get back in contact. He had been very nice to me and had been bringing me to a few places in London ever since I got here.. like this Cambridge trip! Other than that, he also introduced a few new friends to me here and they are awesome!! I love them all! Especially the very nice and friendly YuenLeng.

It is the most popular activity here in Cambridge and you can’t  really say you have been to this place if you haven’t tried the punting. It is almost the same like gondola in Venice City except punting is pushing the boat with a long pole whilst gondola is pushing with an oar.

Also locally known as Great St Mary’s or simply GSM. Another must-visit place in Cambridge. This is the building where we were supposed to get to the top floor and have the bird’s eye view of the whole city but too bad it was closed on that day.

Yesterday, I purposely took a bus and went back to the Chelsea Football Club.

You know why?

At first, I felt offended when they left me comments telling me that I did a great job on the photoshop.

I thought they meant I photoshopped my face, which I didnt. In fact, I don’t even have photoshop installed in my laptop.

So I went back to the Chelsea Football Club to take some photos and to do an entry regarding this:

THIS IS HOW I MANAGED TO GET SUCH PHOTOS!

It is actually a lonnggggggg long wall with murals at the Football Club where you can take photos, acting as if you were there with the Chelsea players.

And this is my favourite spot. There is a chair provided for you to sit with the ‘team’ and my previous post had managed to trick a few people into thinking that I was really sitting next to Lampard

And this is not bad. You can act as though you were receiving the jersey during a press conference.

Finally, I managed to get Simon from Germany (only 1 hour difference in time zone!) to help me cut his head out and paste it onto the pic for me… and I DREW HIS BODY on paint! HAHAHAH NICE OR NOT?! With legs hairs some moreeee!!

And then Simon introduced me to GIMP software, which is something similiar to Photoshop, only not as pro.. but I still think it is too complicated for me noob like me. So I played around with GIMP for a bit and managed to cut his head out for this pic! HAHAH! And then I cropped and drew his body on paint! FML!

Yes, it is none other than the Chelsea Football Club in London!

Even though I am not a fan, but I kinda live nearby.

I always passed by this place and had always wanted to drop by for a visit, so here I am!

No, I didnt buy the ticket. It was Dominic’s. I met him here at the Football Club and we started talking when we helped each other to take photos.. and I recognised his Singlish instantly. So I asked him if he was Singaporean and he said yes!

.

.

The ticket price for the Chelsea Museum and Stadium Tour is £13.00! That’s about RM78.00!

Wtf.. ME? WEN PINK? I am not going to pay that amount of money to go into a … football stadium!?!?!

I might as well save the money and get myself a lip gloss.. or  maybe two! =.=

Anyway, all those who are going to the Chelsea Museum and Stadium Tour is going to get a Chelsea lanyard. I saw everyone wearing one and I felt like having one too…  and my wish was granted lol!

That’s Dominic and I. He is a really, really funny guy with lotsa fun and humour. We exchanged phone numbers and went out to explore London together after 2 days.

Later on, we all went into the Football Club’s souvenir shop to buy something.

That’s Rocco from Italy. We also met each other through photo taking. It’s as though everyone there was alone and we need each other’s help to take photos for each other! lol! He posed there for a photo and I thought he looks a bit like that football player in the background.. erm.. what’s his name again? I forgot.

They are selling soooo many things here. Almost everything..

Key chains, alarm clocks, cups, pens, fans, clocks, shirts, towels… socks? Uhh I ran out of names.. you name it!

And I think this pink snow cap is really nice. Wanted to get one for myself but.. wearing it will only means that I am a devoted fan, so I changed my mind.

I have been meaning to update my blog.

I have been meaning to write at least once a week. But this time, I neglected my blog for almost 2 weeks T___T

You know why???

Because… I have been busy selling some items from Jimmy Choo’s which I bought from the H&M to make some profit, which I will blog about later on this post.

BUT MOST OF ALL, IT IS BECAUSE OF THE LITTLE NYONYA! T___T

I am so addicted to this TV series by Mediacorp that I can’t stop loading and watching it on youtube. Everyday when I wake up, the first thing I would do was to turn on the laptop and load the series before I do anything else. I eat in front of the laptop. I talk to people in front of my laptop. I answer the phone in front of my laptop.

I… basically do everything in front of the laptop refusing to leave my eyes on the TV series. How I wish I could pangsai and shower while watching it too! T__T

My favourite actress is of course, none other than the Heroine herself.. Jeanette Aw!

This is a TV series based on a Baba & Nyonya setting. Their lives are damn conservative and traditional. Jeanette plays as Yueniang in this series and she is like a Cinderella but only stuck in a Baba & Nyonya’s life.

Other than that, my another favourite actress is Joanne Peh!!

She recently also wrote on her blog saying she is in need of a PA for a few months, how I wish I could apply for it

In the series, she acts as Yuzhu and she is soooo kind-hearted. I am often touched by her kindness and my tears just rolled down uncontrollably.  I bet she is also as kind in real life… based on what XiaXue said on her blog post on the Nuffnang Award where they sat next to each other and Joanne was so considerate, she helped Xiaxue to take photos of her getting award without even being asked.

I am now on Episode 24!! Yuzhu (Joanne) just got raped by Robert!! GOSH! SO KAN CHEONG!! I thought the series will end at episode 20 so I kept watching and watching but it never ends at 20!!! I feel so cheated. T____T

OK OK I got carried away for too long.

So I said I have been busy selling some items online to make some profit while I am still in London.

This successful Malaysian-born Jimmy Choo collaborated with H&M store in UK, USA and Japan and only launching his limited edition series once; which was on the 14th of Nov 2009 (for UK).

I went there with William to queue up for 3 hours before the store was due to be opened, when the sky was still dark. With weather forecaster saying that there will be a storm on that morning, I stormed my way there with nothing to be feared about. All I could think of was Jimmy Choo’s, Jimmy Choo’s and Jimmy Choo’s! There were even people camping outside overnight!

People were going crazy as soon as the store was opened! No cameras were allowed so I secretly took this one

Below is the video that I took about 45 minutes before the store was opened (nothing to do queuing up in the line!)

It is fun seeing how people turned away from my camera as they didn’t wish to be recorded by me

And at the same time, you can observe how the sky turned bright as I recorded! It was still dark when I first started recording and it turned bright when I finished in a mere 1 minute and a half!

Right, this is the entire collection that we managed to grab. William and I are keeping a few items for ourselves.

You can view what we are selling here but most of the items are already sold out except for the 3 pieces that we are still considering whether to keep them to ourselves or sell.

But at the mean time, I will post a few pics of the items that we bought

This year’s birthday was a special one.

WHY?

Because for the first time in my whole life, I wasn’t in my home country during this special day to celebrate with my dad and niece Amanda (they share the same birthday as me).

Usually the three of us would celebrate together with the family.
Instead, I was in London. (duh!)

Also, for the first time in my whole life, I celebrated my birthday with my current boyfriend….

and his family members (and cousins).

My boyfriend is not in the photo though.. I think he was the one who took the photo..

I also had a special birthday ‘cake’.. or rather.. cupcakes!
Aren’t they special? They’re handmade.. decorated full of love from all of his cousins and him!

Other than that, my birthday is always only 5 days before Halloween.

Therefore, we celebrated Halloween earlier (minus the trick or treat).

It’s my first time seeing so many sweets and candies prepared by them for the real trick or treat on the 31st.

On the real Halloween Day, our door bell kept ringing.. the kids were pestering us for candies and sweets! But too bad we weren’t prepared so we just ignored them and pretended as if we weren’t home

Oh and I also must show you guys what a good face-painter I am!
